Five miles of new bike trail in DC opened on October 31, connecting the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail with a nearly 70 mile network of trails in Maryland. I rode out there this weekend to see what the fuss was about, and I found idyllic escapes along the Anacostia River and various creeks, miles of trees ablaze with autumn colors, and ground turned auburn beneath fallen leaves. I’ve normally cycled on the Mount Vernon and Washington & Old Dominion trails, and I’ll add the Anacostia trail system to my list.
I shot this with just my iPhone 6S. Mobile phones have become quite capable.
