Schloss means castle in German, and the rock formation to which “Big Schloss” refers certainly evokes an impressive fortress. I hiked there yesterday with the Capital Hiking Club, as fall colors had begun to pop.
The wind was fierce up there. While scrambling on the rocks seen in the picture, the wind actually staggered me.
